The “999” Magazine, the first society and security magazine published by the Ministry of Interior, found its way to Guinness Book of Records for the largest advertising billboard in the world. The billboard measures over 10 meters high and nine meters wide, and features a display of 1498 brand logos for Emirati and international companies, under the motto of the two magazines “999” and “999 Kids”.
The billboard was unveiled, in cooperation with the Dubai Department of Tourism, in conjunction with the Dubai Midnight Marathon, which was held last December. The marathon was organized under the patronage of H.H Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council; in the presence of H.H Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
“999” Magazine dedicated this achievement to Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Moreover, Major General Khaleel Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police, Head of the “999” Magazine Development Committee stated : “Entering the Guinness Book of Records for the ‘most brands advertised on the biggest billboard’ enhances the “999” Magazine’s position and status, locally and abroad”.
He also underscored the commitment to pursue the development strategy for the “999” Magazine; so as to achieve the Higher Leadership’s vision to spread the security and social culture in a refined manner. It also aims to achieve the “999” Magazine’s vision, to create a strong bond between the police force and the public.
Omran Arnaout, Marketing Director of the Discovery Exhibitions Organizers presented the official Guinness Book of Records certificate to Lt. Colonel Awadh Saleh Al Kindi, Editor-in-Chief of “999” Magazine, for the “most brands advertised on the biggest billboard” in the world.
It is noteworthy that the marathon included a fun race from the Burj Khalifa Park, with the participation of more than 12,000 participants of different nationalities and ages. The fun race attracted families, visitors, tourists, schools and universities students, and an elite group of arts and sports celebrities. Also participating in the race, soccer legend Diego Maradona, appointed sports Ambassador. This event aims to promote Dubai’s position as a safety-conscious tourist destination at midnight.
