Al Gharbia Traffic Department of the Traffic and Patrol Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police took part in the "Knowledge" exhibition organized by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited. The exhibition will conclude on Thursday at Zayed City in the Al Gharbia Region with a traffic awareness wing and activities as part of the second awareness campaign titled "Until When", launched by the ministry of Interior  in order to enhance social solidarity and shed the light on the frequency of accidents and their psychological, social and economic impacts.

Major Suhail Sayah al-Mazroui, Head of the Al Gharbia Traffic Department explained that the Traffic Awareness wing at the exhibition focused on enriching the culture of traffic knowledge among the various segments of society, students in schools, institutes and universities in the Al Gharbia Region as part of the traffic safety strategy and the social communication methodology in order to promote traffic safety.
 
Lieutenant First Abdel Rahman Al Ali, Head of Al Gharbia Traffic Control section stated that the Traffic Awareness wing featured a traffic patrol and a radar sniper in addition to awareness publications and traffic lectures to raise the level of traffic culture by showcasing the different causes of traffic accidents which took place at Al Gharbiah region mainly  neglect, lack of attention, sudden deviation, tires exploding, speed without taking into consideration the road, entering a main street without making sure the way is clear and failure to leave a sufficient space between vehicles. 

It is worth noting that the traffic accidents indicator at the Traffic and Patrol Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police during the first quarter of the current year showed an improvement in traffic safety levels in Al Gharbiah for 2012, with a decrease in the number of traffic accidents casualties from 25 last year to 7 this current year; the decrease rate being 72%.
