Jan De Kinder, member of INTERPOL’s committee to develop the work and mechanisms of forensics Evidence, commended the high level of the forensic Evidence Lab of the Abu Dhabi Police. Kinder said that the lab is advanced and utilizes the highest international standard and expertise that can be significantly beneficial.
This member appraisal was delivered during the conclusion of the first meeting of the INTERPOL’s committee, which is commissioned to develop the work and mechanisms of forensic evidence. The meeting was convened at the GHQ of Abu Dhabi Police.
Kinder expressed his thanks to the Abu Dhabi Police for hosting the meeting and the efforts it made to make the event successful. The meeting was held over three days and discussed the organizational structure, work order, and the goals of the committee.
“The results of the current meeting will be further discussed in the coming meeting of the forensic Evidence team members, which will take place during the INTERPOL’s Conference to be held in the Netherlands in August. The outcomes of the August conference will be referred to the INTERPOL’s General Conference in November 2012,” said Kinder.
“After its regulatory law is approved, the Committee will focus on assisting the labs that need development, and will make common databases for the forensic evidence labs in the world. The focus will be also directed to the quality of the labs work, and on experience transfer,” explained Kinder.
The Abu Dhabi Police hosted at its GHQ the meetings of the INTERPOL’s Committee.
Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior emphasized during the meeting the UAE’s commitment to cooperate with the various international organizations, especially in the field of criminal information exchange, and benefitting from the resulting experience transfer.
