The Abu Dhabi Police Criminal Investigation Department team ranked first place in the Government Department Sports Association Championship for the Seven-a-side Football Competition, season 2012/2013.

The championship, organized by the Government Sports Association, was held yesterday at the Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Port Fouad team ranked as the first runner-up among 12 participating teams.

The Abu Dhabi Police Criminal Investigation Department team was able to win the match by beating its opponent, the Port Fouad team with a score of 2-0 in an interesting match characterized by strong players. Defensive strikes were exchanged between the two teams, where the offensive player, Adel Haboush of the Criminal Investigation Department team, scored two clean goals.

The final ceremony was attended by Colonel Dr. Rashed Bu Rashid, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Colonel Ibrahim Sultan Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, along with a number of officers and heads of departments and branches in the Criminal Investigation Department of Abu Dhabi Police.

On the occasion of the team’s achievement, Lt. Colonel Faisal Ali Al Kaabi, the leader of the Criminal Investigation football team, expressed his sincere congratulations to Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police, and Colonel Dr. Rashed Bu Rashid wishing all the winners further sporting achievements.

Lt. Colonel Al Kaabi expressed his sincere thanks to the organizers for their great efforts throughout the 18-day event (May 22nd to June 10th). Concluding, he expressed his thanks to the institutions and the teams that took part in the championship.
