Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior was briefed Sunday morning at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters on three examples of smart patrols equipped with the latest technologies. The brief was delivered by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in collaboration with the IT Department in the Abu Dhabi Police.

HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed listened to an explanation presented by a number of officers on the smart patrol’s interactive features that benefit police personnel. Patrols can use these features to facilitate procedures for receiving notifications electronically; additionally patrols can clarify spatial maps by using the devices.

These patrols offer an electronic mechanism to issue fines, re-create traffic accidents in an effective and comprehensive way, and communicate directly with the operations rooms to save time and effort. The mechanisms help the police department to realize the highest standards in receiving notifications and responding with efficiency and timeliness.

The patrols have e-mail service availability, internal and external cameras, night and thermal cameras and electronic systems linked directly to the database. It works on analyzing the data and providing patrols’ drivers with the necessary information.
