Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, honored two staff members of the Traffic and Patrols Investigation Section in the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ on Monday in his office. The staff members were honored for their efforts in arresting a thief while on duty; the thief had robbed a banking client.
His Highness expressed his thanks and appreciation to the honorees and praised their efforts to catch the thief. He also stressed the commitment of the Higher Leadership to motivate workers to serve the public. His Highness urged the two staff members to redouble their efforts in the service of their nation.
For their part, Corporal Detectives Abdullah Al Mahrouki and First Assistant Detective Ahmed Yousef Al Kalbani expressed their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for this acknowledgment. Moreover, they made a promise to the leadership to carry out their duty to strengthen the security and stability in the country.
The honorees had heard someone outside a bank calling for help and they saw an Asian man running. The two officers gave chase and caught him. The Asian man had fooled the victim by telling him that oil was leaking from his car. When the victim descended from his vehicle to inspect the leakage, the thief opened the car door and robbed the man before fleeing the scene. Moreover, it turned out that the arrested man had entered the country illegally and therefore lacks identity papers.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Minister.
