Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has stressed that the cabinet retreat at Sir Bani Yas, which was initiated by Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a unique event and melting pot that unites the environment, the government and the people. His highness said that the retreat aims to serve national interests and elevate the UAE’s ranking in order to match the world’s most advanced countries.

His Highness recognized the nation’s leadership for their wisdom, deep cultural understanding, sense of aesthetic and their ability to realize the importance of nature and the role it plays in the creative process. “The greatest inspirational ideas in human historythat changed the course of civilization were born between the mountains and the forests, on the banks of the rivers and on the edge of the desert,” added His Highness.

Furthermore, His Highness expressed his pleasure of being present on the great island founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is now a habitat for wildlife and serves as a safe home for endangered animals. The island is also home to several beautiful creatures that are national symbols for the UAE, like the Houbara and the Oryx, which accompanied our ancestors in this region for thousands of years.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum planted the first red mangrove tree at the wildlife reserve on the Sir Bani Yas Island. In reference to this generous gesture, His Highness said: “This isa creative gesture of great connotations. We must follow in his footsteps by celebrating our local environment and contribute to its development and sustainability. This environment inspired our fathers with the greatest ideas for building the Union, and continues today to provide us with hopes and aspirations, and gives us determination and resolution to achieve them.”
