A Russian delegation from the Scientific and Research Institute of Motor Transport (NIIAT), led by Yuri Oleynikov, Advisor to the Institute’s Director General, visited the SAAED Company for Traffic Systems in the UAE. The visiting delegation, accompanied by Mr. Roman Oleynikov; Russian Federation Consul General to the UAE, and Mr. Alexei Lebedev, Vice-Consul, reviewed the SAAED Company’s experience in the area of traffic safety; and its role in improving the traffic sector in the United Arab Emirates.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, Chairman of SAAED Company’s Board of Directors, met the visiting delegation. He emphasized that SAAED’s successful experience in dealing with traffic accidents with modern technology-aided solutions is under the spotlight. This is reflected by the frequent visits of the world's leading bodies and institutions in the transport sector to SAAED Company for Traffic Systems.
During the meeting, attended by Engineer Ibrahim Ramel, CEO of SAAED and heads of departments, Al Harthi shed light on the company's success in attracting pioneer players from the transport sector, by developing a clear vision to address traffic problems, with cutting-edge solutions and a calculated investment in modern smart systems.
The delegation toured the company, and reviewed the systems and mechanisms adopted by SAAED in the areas of traffic planning. It also got acquainted with the Company’s best practices to implement smart systems and create a uniform traffic management system, so as to ensure a smooth traffic flow on the roads. The delegation was also briefed on the work process in the Operations Room, and some of the Company’s internal and external projects in the field of smart traffic systems.
It is worth mentioning that the Scientific and Research Institute of Motor Transport (NIIAT) is the entity in charge of all major Russian transportation projects, namely; the land connection project for the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in the Russian city of Sochi in 2014; and the transportation project for the 2018 World Cup. The NIIAT also plays a significant role in planning for transportation projects in Russia, and developing Russian transport infrastructure.
