Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hamadi, Director of Forensic Evidence Department of the Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, accompanied by Masoud Hashem, Acting Director General of The Centre for Regulation of Hired Car Transport in Abu Dhabi (TransAd), inaugurated the office for the issuance of Criminal Status Certificates “Good Conduct and Behavior Certificate”, which assures the cooperation of different organizations to serve society members.
Captain Sultan Al Teneiji, Head of Fingerprint Section, stated that the plan to develop the services in the Fingerprint Section comes as an embodiment to the Strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters as to improve and develop the level of the provided services, as well as limit the efforts and time spent to facilitate the procedures of the public, in addition to increase the levels of clients’ satisfaction.
He also added that this step comes within the framework of facilitating the procedures of TransAd taxi drivers in quickly attaining the Criminal Status Certificate which spares them the hassle of visiting other service centers.
Al Teneiji also added that around 6,000 TransAd taxi drivers in Abu Dhabi apply for the license annually in order to renew their permits which have to be renewed every year.
He mentioned that the idea of opening an office comes as a result of Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to reach out to different social groups within their whereabouts; noting that the applications will be delivered within normal office working hours throughout the week except for Friday and Saturday, by the representatives of taxi companies, as well as by filling the applications available online, and sending them to the Fingerprint Section for revision. The results will then be sent to the office, where they will be printed and delivered to the companies’ representatives.
