Upon the instructions of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to review the situation of UAE nationals born abroad to foreign women, and under the follow-up of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, the Special Committee met the children born outside the country to UAE fathers and foreign mothers. The committee, led by Major General Nasser Al Awadi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, conducted interviews with 32 children whose parents are Emirati and were born outside the country from Indian mothers.

Major General Al Menhali stated that the committee has completed its work of studying the cases and reviewed the 32 applications brought forward by 32 nationals’ children outside the UAE, where the necessary tests were carried out to promote the national identity of nationals’ children born abroad, and strengthen their integration in society.

He noted that the return of national children to the UAE reflects the higher leadership’s attention to its children wherever they were, in the UAE or abroad, to provide them with a decent life, expressing his hope that national identity, customs and traditions would be strengthened and integration in UAE society achieved.

Al Menhali hailed the efforts of the UAE embassy in India to facilitate the committee’s tasks, by providing data and information and giving it the opportunity to meet these children. He especially thanked the UAE Consul in Mumbai for his collaboration to ensure the success of the committee’s tasks, pointing out that the committee will head to Indonesia on Tuesday as part of its Asian tour to complete its tasks.
