The Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior organized an awareness lecture in order to promote human rights’ culture. The lecture was held in the auditorium at the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters, in collaboration with the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The lecture, coinciding with the state’s celebration of Human Rights World Day, was delivered by Adel Al Mahri, Director of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was attended by a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers and employees from the Ministry.

Al Mahri emphasized that community participation in all local and international events, related to human rights, stem from the UAE’s vision to promote awareness to maintain and preserve human rights; so as to consolidate the noble values, and spread the culture that honor humans.

Col. Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior, said that interaction with Human Rights World Day’s events is a positive reflection of a community who enjoys security and stability under the law.

He added that the Ministry’s significant role to protect and preserve human rights, embodies the attention and support of our Higher Leadership to pass laws and charters related to human rights, in order to preserve the Human element, the most precious component of the nation. 

He underscored the state’s keenness to organize awareness events on the occasion, to spread the human rights’ culture among all segments of society, and to achieve Ministry of Interior’s strategic objectives to spread awareness and knowledge.
