The Law Respect Culture Office, General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, participated today in the activities of the Open Day Festival for people with disabilities. The festival is organized by the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and People with Special Needs, and is held at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.
Aisha Khalifa Al Muhairi, coordinator of the activities in the office, stressed the office’s keenness to participate in all the activities and events organized by the institutions caring for people with disabilities in the state. She further noted that caring for this category is an integral part of the humanitarian office’s message, which seeks to raise awareness among all members and sections of society. The office focuses on categories that need more community support and interest regarding their causes and rights.
She stated that the law contests organized by the office, within the festival activities, received an overwhelming response from the audience. The audience emphasized the importance of educating participants, people with disabilities, and their families about the most significant laws in the state, such as the laws of environment, animal welfare, anti-smoking, and some law provisions contained in the Federal Penal Code or the Traffic Law.
Aisha Al Muhairi also said that the gifts distributed by the office to the participants in the contests and the audience brought smiles to the children’s faces. The office managed to deliver a message that the society, with all its institutions and members, exerts great efforts to provide support and assistance for this category, which has proven its ability to give and be outstanding in all fields.
