Indian Kerala-based newspapers published in the Malayalam language, commended the social communication initiatives carried out by the Security Media Department, at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s Office. Such initiatives include in particular, the numerous publications to educate Indian communities residing in the State, about UAE laws and local regulations, to avoid violations.
Newspaper officials expressed their keenness to provide any type of media support to the Security Media Department’s delegation, should it decide to carry out a media campaign in the state of Kerala. They emphasized that such campaigns acquaint Indian nationals with UAE laws before entering the country, either on work or visit visa.
In a recent visit to the state of Kerala, the Security Media Department’s delegation visited the head offices of a number of newspapers, namely; Siraj and Manorama in Calicut; as well as Kottayam and Mathrubhumi in Kottayam.
Dr. Shashsi Tharoor, Minister of State for Human Resource Development in Kerala, honored the visiting delegation, lauding the social communication initiatives implemented by the UAE Ministry of Interior. Moreover, he commended the grace period granted by the UAE Government for Law of Entry and Residence violators to voluntarily leave the country, without legal accountability or paying any fines. He also praised the coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
The Security Media Department’s delegation, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khaja, Deputy Director of Technical Affairs and Security Media Department, included Captain Ahmed Naseeb Al-Mansouri, Head of the Media Strategy Section; Ahmed Al Dahmani, Assistant Director of Communications in the Department and Mr. Nayer, Malayalam news editor from the Security Media Department.
Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khaja presented a commemorative shield to Mr. Oommen Chandi; Kerala’s Foreign Minister; Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Kerala’s Minister of State for Human Resource Development; Kerala’s Minister for Home Mr. Thiruvanachoor Radhakrishnan, and Al Sheikh Abu Bakr Musliyar Kanthapuram, head of Siraj Publishing Group.
In his meeting with the visiting Security Media Delegation, Kerala’s Minister for Home, Mr. Thiruvanachoor Radhakrishnan, lauded the unique social communication initiatives, which reflect the attention dedicated by the United Arab Emirates to the Indian Diaspora residing in the UAE.
Concluding, he invited the Security Media and the Community Police Departments to visit the Kerala police, to exchange expertise, so as to serve the common interests in the safety and security issues of concern to citizens of both countries.
