Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrol Department announced the installation of 30 new radars on the new Al Ain- Dubai road. This step comes in line with the traffic safety strategy and the efforts exerted to develop the traffic safety system and provide a sustainable traffic environment to achieve highest levels of safety on internal and external roads in Abu Dhabi.

Major Mohsen Saeed Al Mansouri, Head of Al Ain Traffic and Patrol Division of Abu Dhabi Police, said: "The locations of the new radars was determined based on accidents and traffic violations' indicators. These radars were installed to reduce high speed and put an end to the reasons behind traffic accidents and their resulting human and economic losses and negative social impacts.” He added: “The speed limit control on the new radars is 140 km per hour."

Al Mansouri stressed that installing radars contributes in many locations and times to reduce speed on different roads to reasonable levels compared to the way they were before installation.

Major Al Mansouri urged drivers on Al Ain- Dubai road to commit to designated speed limits for their own safety and safety of other motorists. He added that driving too fast and recklessly endangers the life of all road users and results in significant loss in souls and properties, thus leading to confusion on the roads while driving the vehicle.

He also called on all community members to promote partnership in the efforts exerted to spread the culture of safe driving and commitment to speed limits to avoid traffic accidents caused by high speed.
