His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by a number of dignitaries, attended the honoring ceremony of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), the Department of Security Media and the Department of Community Police during a celebration ceremony organized by “Siraj” Indian newspaper, recently on the occasion of the country’s 41st National Day at Abu Dhabi National Theatre.
The ceremony was attended by Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the Minister of Interior of the Indian State of Kerala; and Sheikh Kanthapuram Abu Baker, a former Indian Minister and Chirman of “Siraj” newspaper; Yousuf Ali, the Managing Director for Lulu Group; and Dr. B. R. Shetty, the Managing Director for UAE Exchange, and a big audience of the Indian community in the country.
The Kerala Minister of Interior valued the Community Police Department’s activities as well as the networking initiatives undertaken by the Security Media Department. He also praised the level of cooperation between the Security Media Department and “Siraj” newspaper through publishing of police relevant topics in its weekly issue every Friday.
He also expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian resolutions issued by the UAE in the recent period such as the extradition agreement, and the grace period given for violators of the foreigners’ entry and residency law, calling upon all violators of the Indian community to take advantage of the advised time limit and depart the country.
The ceremony showcased a presentation of a documentary on the UAE history produced by the Indian media, and a short movie on Abu Dhabi Police produced by the Security Media Department. Both shows were admired by the audience, and the event also included several cultural activities presented by the Indian community that demonstrated the historical friendship and ties between the two countries.
