The Abu Dhabi Police kicked off the second Pistol Shooting Championship at the shooting range of the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. A total of 17 teams from the various police departments participated in the event, organized by the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police.
Colonel Muhammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dahiri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, emphasized the keenness of Abu Dhabi Police to organize such sports competitions; for their positive impact on participants.
He added that sports promote self-confidence, and equip individuals with mental and physical skills needed in life; noting that police officers need to exercise to be able to carry out their tasks and duties skillfully.
Moreover, he urged participants to show fair competition to promote relations between police personnel, as a priority for organizing police sports competitions.
Major Abdullah Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Head of Sports Activities section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, kicked off the championship, wishing luck and success to all participating teams.
In the same vein, First Lieutenant Jamal Al Saadi, Director of Sports Teams and Competitions at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, indicated that the number of participants in the championship is the highest in the history of pistol shooting championships at the state level.
The results of the championship were as follows:
For individuals, First Assistant Khalaf Al Mesmari from the Government and Diplomatic Facilities Department ranked first; Captain Mubarak Salem from the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department ranked second; and Sergeant Said from the Al Ain Police Directorate ranked third.
On teams’ level, the Government and Diplomatic Facilities Department secured first place, followed by the ICT Department in second place and Police Schools in third place.
