The sixth Pentathlon Championship, organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police concluded its activities. The Government and Diplomatic Facilities Protection Department secured first place; the Guards and Special Tasks Department ranked second, and the Western Region Police Directorate ranked third.
Colonel Muhammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dahiri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, emphasized the keenness of Abu Dhabi Police to organize sports activities, for their positive impact on police members’ performance.
He added that sports activities enhance the body’s fitness to better perform its tasks. They also create a balance and mental cohesion, and promote fair competitiveness and good ethics, which are the main priorities that Abu Dhabi Police supports in sports activities.
Major Mohammed Obaid Al Falahi, head of Sports Activities section at the Strategy and Performance Development, distributed the victory trophies to the winners, in a ceremony held at the Police College headquarters.
For his part, First Lieutenant Jamal Al Saadi, Director of Sports Teams and Competitions, noted that the Pentathlon Championship, organized by Abu Dhabi Police is an important tournament in this field, held at the state level. He pointed out that it included long jump long, discus throwing, swimming, shooting, and running competitions, and was held in five stages with the participation of 10 departments from ADP.
Al Saadi added that the Championship also featured individual competitions between a large number of police personnel. In the individual competitions, winners were as follows: Sergeant Saud Jumaa Al Zaabi, from the Central Operations Department secured first place; police officer Ali Hafez, from the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks ranked second; and Sergeant Mohamed Ahmed Al Abdouli, from the Government and Diplomatic Facilities Protection Department ranked third.
