Emirates Police team take part in half marathon race in Algeria
Cross-country Emirates Police Team left for Algeria on Monday to participate in the Police Arab Championship for Half Marathon hosted by Algiers from 18-21 May.
Advisor Abdullah Salim Al Ameri, Chairman of Police Sport Federation stated that the participation was in response of police leadership directives to be present in all Arab and international occasions.
“This championship reflects constant interest in strengthening fraternal ties among police Arab organizations”, said Al Ameri. “It is also a good chance to show the development attained by UAE police teams”, he added.
The best athletes have been chosen to represent UAE police team in order to do well in the championship, affirmed Al Ameri.
The participating delegation is headed by Colonel Shawwaf Mohammed Abdul Rahman, from Sharjah Police, who is accompanied by Captain Jassem Mohammed Ali, from Human Resources Directorate General.
The team comprises five racers: Abdullah Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Salim Al Dabbi, Abdullah Rabea Salim, Khamis Ali Rashid and Fardeen Ibrahim Shahdad.
The delegation was seen off at Abu Dhabi airport by Lt. Hmaid Khamis Al Ali from Police Sport Federation.
