The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police announced that it will be deploying eight new radars in Al Ittihad Road in Al Ain as of tomorrow. This comes in line with an ongoing comprehensive traffic safety plan to install fifty seven new radars on the internal and external roads in Al Ain. It is noteworthy that speed limit on Al Ittihad Road was set at 141 kms / h, in an effort to curb all possible reasons behind traffic accidents and their resulting deaths and serious injuries.
Colonel Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, Director of Traffic Engineering and Road Safety Department in the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, indicated that the new radars’ locations were chosen based on the accidents and traffic violations indicators.
