Discussing the Advancement of Research Services Of the Emirates Association for Animal Welfare

During its 5th convention, chaired by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board, the Emirates Association for Animal Welfare discussed a number of issues concerning the advancement of the Association’s services.

The attendees reviewed during the meeting, the developing efforts of the Association, and the preparation for the media campaign that the Association plans to launch during May 2012, under the slogan “He who doesn’t have mercy, shall not expect mercy”, which will touch on the several advices to be given to parents upon purchasing a pet, regarding the suitable environment for this pet.

The Association’s Chairman of the Board stated that the campaign aims to spread awareness about animal welfare and the importance of keeping pets safe; to encourage the public to treat animals humanely and to participate in voluntary work related to animal protection. The campaign also aims to reinforce the positive behaviors for treating the pets, taking into consideration the positive and important role pets have in people’s life, as well as their role in maintaining ecological balance.

Al Nuaimi added that the Association will also spread awareness about the concept of animal protection, and ways of keeping animals safe, by proposing policies and laws to guarantee animal rights.

The association’s strategic plans will also focus on animal rights awareness as well as proposing laws and regulations to support these rights, and improve care for marine and wild animals as well as cooperating efficiently with partners.
