Capital Police urges parents and students to abide by safety rules

 

Colonel Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, Director of ADP Capital Police Directorate (CPD) has directed the Directors of CPD Police Stations to intensify patrols with beginning of the new school year at traffic signals and main streets to control traffic flow, especially during peak hours in the morning.

In a press statement, on occasion of the new school year, has called for joint efforts to ensure students and other road users' safety, urging parents and students to comply with public safety standards on roads.

He has congratulated parents, students and teaching staffs on the occasion with best wishes for good academic results. He has stressed the importance of partnership with different community sectors to disseminate security and traffic awareness, in order to instill the concept of social responsibility for public interest.

"CPD is keen to organize several lectures, awareness and social activities for schools and parents, through Community Police personnel at Police Stations, to urge them to observe the times that witness traffic congestions on roads and to abide by correct safety rules. School bus drivers are also educated to monitor students when riding and leaving the buses and clearance of buses back and front sides before starting to move", added Colonel Al Shareefi.
