Campaign to enhance safe driving during foggy days
Pamphlets containing instructions on safe driving during foggy weathers have been distributed by a team from Media and Public Relations Section at ADP Traffic and Patrols Department at filling stations, on internal and external roads of Abu Dhabi City. The aim of the publications was also to prevent traffic accidents.
Major Ahmed Salim Al Niyadi, Head of the Section said, field campaigns had been intensified to raise awareness level among drivers on safe driving during fog, especially during this time of the year.
The campaign began with messages transmitted through radio programmes, notices in newspapers and distribution of publications to motorists to communicate directly with drivers.
He urged road users to drive at low speeds, be attentive and patient, should not overtake other vehicles, change their lanes, not using high beam headlights as they reflect the fog and impare visibility. They also should not use hazard lights while driving in fog and should adhere to traffic rules and regulations for their and other road users' safety.
