Bani Yass Police impound 247 unlicensed motor bikes
Bani Yass Police Station of ADP Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, Policing Operations Directorate General, have impounded (247) unlicensed motor bikes, during intensive traffic campaigns carried out during the first quarter of this year. Most owners of motor bikes are of youth category that are not aware of the risks entailed, according to Major Humaid Mohammad Al Ghafri, Head of the Station.
He believes that these young men drive bikes because their parents do not follow them up or they are occupied with other things, absence of family guidance and schools always focus on academic issues. The risks of driving a motor bike recklessly are not less than driving a vehicle. He calls for facing these behaviors through awareness campaigns to instill the concept of safe driving.
He also urges families not to allow their kids to drive motor bikes without licence. They should not drive them on public roads and places because they are designed to be driven on remote areas.
He affirms that the police station will continue monitoring the use of motor bikes to stop their use illegally and haphazardly so as to educate the youth on avoiding falling in mistakes.
