Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, examined the mechanisms and plans for developing the work at the Directorate General of Civil Defence in Sharjah. He was received by Brigadier Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, director general of civil defence, heads of departments and sections and a number of police officers.

He met with Brigadier Al Suwaidi and discussed with him the workflow in light of the changes following the implementation of the new organizational structure of the ministry of interior. They have also explored the existing level of cooperation and coordination between civil defence and other police sectors in areas such as ensuring preparedness and providing quick and effective response for all potential emergencies.

He inaugurated the two new off-road rescue vehicles, as well as two other mobile operations vehicles which were newly introduced in the Sharjah civil defence vehicles fleet.

He also visited the civil defence station at Al Muailih district in Sharjah where he was briefed about the workflow at the station.
At the end of the visit, Al Suwaidi expressed his thanks to the undersecretary, stressing the keenness of the directorate to exerting much more efforts during the next stage, and enhancing cooperation with all security sectors in the emirates and other local departments to promote civil safety measures.
