Female Students from Al Dhabiania Private School of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) in Abu Dhabi visited the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, to congratulate the Directorate for receiving the honorable Khalifa Award for Education 2012 in the category of Education and Society Service. The Award recognizes the Directorate’s efforts and activities in benefitting from education and awareness to achieve a sustainable traffic safety in Abu Dhabi society.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate, met a group of visiting female students, and expressed his gratitude for their civilized and kind initiative. The meeting was attended by a number of Directorate officers.
Brigadier Al Harithi confirmed that the police commandment is keen to promote the partnership and collaboration between different government institutions, pointing to the attention extended by the traffic safety strategy of Abu Dhabi Police to ensure spreading traffic safety awareness in the education sector.
The visit included an educational lecture on the factors leading to traffic accidents, and their impacts in terms of deaths and severe injuries. The lecture also addressed the role played by female students in ensuring traffic safety by reminding their parents to always adhere to traffic laws including speed limits, wearing seatbelt and keeping children below ten years of age at the backseat.
The visiting female students also attended an educational program addressing different topics such as traffic signals, the proper way to wait for the school buses and how to board and exit them, training them on the proper way of being seated in school buses, and to never stand behind a bus after getting off of it.
At the conclusion of the visit, students received gifts and toys related to traffic, as well as traffic brochures to help them enhance their traffic education and knowledge.
