Inspection Security Department (K9) of Abu Dhabi Police received the international certification on search and rescue during crisis and disasters from the International Rescue Dog Organization (IRO), whose head office is located in Austria.

UAE is the first county in the Middle East to obtain this global certification.
 
Colonel Jamal Habash, director of K9 has received the certificate from the IRO judge and the accompanying committee at a ceremony held by the department for this end. They praised the high performance exhibited by the team members during the test, which helped them get high score.

Hafeet mount and other areas in vicinity have been chosen for conducting a test to measure  dogs’ response as to recover and locate victims of  disasters.

Present at the ceremony were Major Saeed Khalifa bin Rakkad, K9 team leader of Abu Dhabi Police and Captain Gharib Rashid Al Sa’idi, head of K9 section, Al Ain.
