Abu Dhabi Traffic Police implements new speed limits
Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ began imposing new radar control speed limit on the Al Guwaifat- Dubai road and from Sas Al Nakheel Bridge to Seh Shuaib.
The new speed limit is set to 140 Km/h in order to improve levels of traffic safety.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Al Harithi, director of the directorate affirmed that these procedures serve the interests of road users in the first place.
“Since the beginning of this year, the Directorate has commenced reducing speed levels across the emirate”, said Al Harithi.
“Modern speed control applications do not restrict road users; they drive them for more abiding by fixed speed limits and these applications contributed to prevent deadly traffic accidents”, added Al Harithi.
He also added that fixed and mobile radars contributed greatly to reduction of over speeding, indicating that field operations to seize violators and awareness campaigns will continue to achieve the required outcomes, and cut down accidents without consideration of any financial obstacles.
