Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General, Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stressed that Abu Dhabi Police was one of the leading entities to adopt environment, health and public safety management systems.
He said that Abu Dhabi Police lays great emphasis on power conservation which represents the core element of modern life, through setting initiatives and approaches that deal with disseminating the culture of conservation. These steps taken by Abu Dhabi Police had a positive impact on its work, and it contributed to achieving significant reduction in local consumption which was one of the highest among other governmental departments and entities.
He added: “Abu Dhabi Police, represented by transportation and services Department, managed to convert 522 vehicles to gas fuel. This was implemented in line with its efforts to reduce pollution and maintain a clean environment,” adding that: “more vehicles are planned for such conversion in the near future.”
His statement came during a meeting with a delegation from Friends of Environment Association comprising of Dr. Ibrahim Ali Mohammad, Chairman; and the following members: Khaled Al Hosani, Islam Al Mantawi, Dalia Haydar, and Angela Vandeno.
Major General Badran affirmed Abu Dhabi Police support to the activities of the association in conserving the environment. He noted the importance of setting awareness programs that include all categories of the society, in order to reduce waste in energy and water. He commended the vital role played by the media in this regard, and wished the association all the best.
The delegation praised the Abu Dhabi Police initiatives in the field of environment conservation. The delegation also extended their gratitude to Major General Badran for his continuous efforts in environment conservation and for his firm belief in the message of the Association in spreading awareness and environmental education in the society.
The delegation presented an appreciation certificate and a memorial shield to Major General Badran, who in turn gave a memorial gift to the delegation.
