The Rehabilitation and Training Division at the Juveniles Care Center affiliated with Abu Dhabi Police started preparing juveniles for the new academic year through the “Back to School” Festival it had organized for this purpose.
Brigadier Ahmed Bin Nakhira, Director of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior, emphasized that the Juveniles Care Center is primarily an educational institution, and is a part of the juveniles’ alternative family, playing a significant professional role to rehabilitate juveniles psychologically and socially.
Brigadier Bin Nakhira had attended the closing ceremony of the “Back to School” Festival organized by the Rehabilitation and Training Division at the Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center of Abu Dhabi Police, stressing that it is important that the inmates continue their studies despite the temporary arrest conditions, by caring for them and encouraging them to study, which will help them overcome this difficult phase of their lives.
He noted that the Juveniles Care Center includes an integrated school from the lowest grades to high school; equipped according to the highest standards in order to enable students of the Center to continue the academic process in the best circumstances.
For his part, Lieutenant Salem Al Menhali, Director of the Rehabilitation and Training Division at Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center, stated that the festival was held over an entire week, before the beginning of the school year, in order to prepare juveniles psychologically and socially for the new school year with hope, optimism and perseverance; adding that religious and traditional lectures were organized to instill the values of the Emirati national identity in the heart of students.
Workshops were also organized with respect to “the concept of morality” and “the ethics of computer use”; as well as recreational activities, through the drawing studio and health related activities about the proper nutrition, as part of the “Back to School” Festival.
