During a visit to the French Ministry of Interior, the Abu Dhabi police delegation was acquainted with the latest veterinary medicine and health care techniques, as well as the modern methods of police sniffer dogs training. The delegation also discussed mutual research and training cooperation.
Colonel Jamal Habash, Director of the Security Inspection Department at the Directorate General for Security and Ports Affairs and head of the delegation indicated that the visit comes within the framework of communicating with advanced countries in all areas related to police dogs’ training and veterinary medicine.
He added: “This visit included numerous meetings, as well as visits to Alfort School of Veterinary Medicine, the Civil Defense Command, and the National Police GHQ, which includes the police sniffer dogs unit and other facilities.
Colonel Habash noted that training methods and developments were discussed with Professor Dominique Grandjean, Professor and Head of Alfort School of Veterinary Medicine. The delegation also attended a practical demonstration in the field of search, rescue, assistance and other applications.
The delegation also visited the French Police Operations Room, the dogs feeding units and dog pounds, as well as the showroom of a French manufacturing company for dogs’ training equipment and tools. Moreover, discussions were held with the Alfort School of Veterinary Medicine officials to inquire about the required procedures to obtain membership at the School’s Research and Scientific Studies Center.
The UAE delegation included First Lt. Khaled Al Kuthairi, and Veterinarian Talaat Badawi, from Abu Dhabi Police.
