In Cooperation with Cambridge University; the Training Department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters organized a training course to qualify second level leaders (deputy heads of departments). The course aimed to enable the officers to achieve the police leadership’s strategic objectives, enhance their expertise in decision making mechanisms, learn risk analysis methods and determine the priorities of strategic objectives.

The three-day course marked the beginning of the cooperation with Cambridge University in this regard. It was moderated by the Business School Executive Director and Chairman, along with a number of specialized advisors in leadership and security fields.

Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stressed that successful leadership is critical to the success of any organization. He explained that the idea of qualifying leaders is currently receiving great attention from the police leadership.  Major General Al Menhali noted that programs aimed at qualifying leaders are of significant importance, especially at the Human Resources Directorate General, which has given top priority to developing leadership capabilities, in order to achieve strategic objectives with high levels of efficiency.

In conclusion, Major General Al Menhali said: “Throughout the three-day course, the Cambridge University’s rich experience and specialized knowledge in the leadership field were mixed with the local security and field experiences, to the benefit of the deputy heads of departments participating in the course. This would help develop their personal impact and performance sustainability, in a way that enhances their capabilities to achieve the strategic objectives and indicators of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.”
