Five personnel of the Security Center for Geographic Information System (GIS) in the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters participated in a specialized course in geographic systems that focus on an initial square area of a site. The two-week course was held at the Jordanian Royal Geographic Center, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Brigadier Dr. Eng. Awni Al Khasawnah, Director General of the Jordanian Royal Geographic Center welcomed the participants and introduced them to the center and the courses organized in the geographic and surveying fields. He commended the cooperation between the center and the Abu Dhabi Police in relation to GIS.
The course included theoretical and practical training on the basics of surveying; its terminology; tools; height and distance measurements and their use; leveling equipment; angles; distances; and GPS uses.
The course aims to elevate the efficiency of the GIS center in the field of surveying. The Abu Dhabi Police delegation included Lt. Ali Rashid Al Shamsi, Lt. Abdullah Saif Al Kabi, Lt. Yusuf Anad Al Kabi, Lt. Muhammed Abdulsamad Al Qahtani, and Corporal Muhammed Bati Al Maamari.
Lt. Al Shamsi expressed his gratitude to the Royal Center for providing scientific and practical training material that helped to convey the information to trainees, giving more useful information in the field of surveying, reviewing advanced equipment and tools in this field, providing trainees with the necessary skills that will help them achieve success and excellence.
At the conclusion of the course, Director General of the Jordanian Royal Geographic Center presented certificates to the participants, and wished them luck in their future endeavors and work.
