Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations, honored Captain Saeed Salem Hdairem Al Ketbi, Director of Foreign Branches at the Abu Dhabi Police Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department, who obtained his Masters degree with honors from the Dubai Police Academy for his thesis about the strategies to face environmental crisis and risks.

Major General Al Raisi congratulated Captain Al Ketbi, applauding his achievement and urging him to carry on his studies and employ them in the service of the UAE and in advancing police work. He also gave him a commemorative gift.

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Ismail Al Sirkal, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations and Lt. Colonel Mohammed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department.

Captain Al Ketbi pointed out that the thesis includes recommendations on forming an environmental police unit and public prosecutions, as well as an environmental court and a department for training, and an environmental data bank at the state level.

The recommendations of the thesis stressed on the importance of building human capacities in environmental security, via training, holding lectures and scientific meetings, and creating an international media channel to raise awareness on environmental affairs and shed light on all environmental news to acquaint the citizens with the various issues in this regard.

The thesis also calls on uniting Arab and international efforts to fight environmental crimes, given that they are occurring in Arab countries and all over the world, and on working to create an effective alert system to enhance readiness to manage crisis and disasters that may face the environment in the Arab world.
