The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters received the International Internet Award (Internet Web Award) for the category of “Best Online Advertising Campaign” for 2011, organized by Terrapin; a company specialized in showcasing distinguished creative projects worldwide for different domains and fields.

The award was given for the 2011 Formula 1 race marketing campaign website, www.f999.ae. The event took place between 11 – 13th of November, last year.

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Hussein Al Khajah, Deputy Director of Technical Affairs and Security Media Department at the Secretariat General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stated that this international award is sought by many institutions, governmental and private organizations for its worldwide significance. Terrapin defines these projects, sorts them according to specific categories, and evaluates them as per their standards and conditions allotting an award for each category. Later on, these projects get published on the company’s online website.

He added that an internet/web award had been assigned as part of the awards and had been updated with a regional version two years ago designated for Middle East projects. He also stated that the internet/web award includes many categories, one of which is Best Online Advertising Award for 2011.

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Hussein Al Khajah pointed out that among a number of governmental bodies in the Middle East, the Abu Dhabi Police won this award due to the site’s application of high and advanced technical standards from the design to its launch.

Innovative techniques in the website contend with the most famous sites worldwide, regarding quality and development, such as Google and YouTube. The site was designed and established by the Staff of the Technical Affairs and Security Media Department.
