The Tourism Police Section at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) is committed to spreading awareness among tourists. The Tourism Police distributed brochures and leaflets in 12 different languages to tourists regarding the code and conduct of Abu Dhabi. The informative materials raise awareness regarding the traditions and customs of the UAE and are distributed in an effort to further develop the standards of tourism alongside disseminating greater cultural awareness amongst tourists.
Lieutenant Colonel Muzeed Al Otaibi, Chief of the Tourism Police Section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), invited tourists not to hesitate in asking the Tourism Police officers for help: “The officers are always ready and willing to provide their services in a timely manner. Tourists should feel free to contact our Operations Room at 999 or contact the toll-free number of the Tourism Police via the Aman Service on 8002626.”
Such instructions will be broadcasted on the radio on Wednesday, and will be delivered by the Chief of the Tourism Police Section at Abu Dhabi Police. The address falls within the framework of the ’Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Otaibi noted that the Tourism Police are keen to provide an appropriate and safe atmosphere for tourists by adhering to the current framework of efforts made to maintain the safety and security of tourists. He said: “The Tourism Police work diligently to reduce the circumstances that may negatively affect tourists and to ensure that tourists are not exploited or subjected to scams. The Section is additionally attentive towards ensuring that tourists are able to safely visit the touristic sites and landmarks within the UAE.”
