The Directorate General of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi conducted a demonstration on the new firefighting solution and technology called the “One Seven System”. The demonstration that took place at the Civil Defense Academy building in Abu Dhabi, was attended by Colonel Juma Salem Ali, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense; and Colonel Hilal Aida Al Mazroui, Director of Public Safety and Quick Intervention Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Also attending were a large number of officers from the Directorate General of Civil Defense, the Civil Defense Departments across the state, and representatives of local government and private entities.
Colonel Juma Salem Ali underscored the keenness of the Directorate General to implement its vision to develop the Civil Defense Forces, which comes in line which the Ministry of Interior’s vision. “We visited the new technology’s manufacturing company headquartered in Germany, to review the technique’s concept and the various manufacturing phases of the advanced firefighting vehicles”, pointed out Colonel Salem Ali.
He indicated that the One Seven System generates foam to extinguish a fire, more efficiently and evenly than water. Moreover, the technology is designed to work with lightweight hoses, thus achieving impressive longer reach to extinguish a fire than the regular system.
Concluding, Colonel Juma Salem Ali expressed his thanks to the entities in charge of implementing the demonstration, as well as to the representatives of local government and private agencies for their attendance, which promotes partnership and achieves the Ministry of Interior’s objectives.
For his part, First Lieutenant Hamid Abdullah Al Ali, General supervisor of the demonstration, indicated that the demonstration aims to shed light on the major differences between the new system and the existing (PWR) system used on firefighting vehicles in the State, through a mockup drill to compare both systems’ ability to extinguish a fire that broke out in three building replicas.
