A total of 60 Students, from International Jubilee Private School in Abu Dhabi, recently visited the Traffic and Patrol Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police. The visit is part of the school field trips program, which is implemented in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC).

Lt. Colonel Jamal Salim Al Ameri, Director of Public Relations Department at the Traffic and Patrol Directorate said: “The visit comes in line with the traffic awareness campaign, titled ‘Till When?!’, and will contribute in promoting traffic safety.”

Al Ameri stressed the need to double the efforts to increase the level of traffic culture among students in the education sector. He added: “The number of programs implemented during the first quarter of this year is about 46 traffic awareness lectures in Abu Dhabi, which benefitted 5181 students.”

The visit included a traffic awareness lecture, in which the students of the International Jubilee Private School were acquainted with the causes of traffic accidents, their resulting human and economic losses, psychological and social impacts, as well as the importance of committing to traffic laws and regulations.

The students were also briefed on the risks of driving a vehicle without a driving license, and failure to acquire the required skills and training, which may result in serious traffic accidents. The students were also advised to avoid driving their bicycles on the roads, or to jaywalk and fail to use pedestrian lanes which could result in run-over accidents.
