A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Police visited the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. This congress is one of the most significant communication technology exhibitions in the world, as global leading companies in the sector participate in its activities.
The delegation, which included officers from the Information and Telecommunications Technology Department in Abu Dhabi Police, toured the stand of Emirates Telecommunication Corporation (Etisalat), a major participant, and strategic partner for the Abu Dhabi Police in telecommunications. The delegation also visited the different international stands in the exhibition where cutting-edge technologies were showcased.
Colonel Anwar Abdulla Al Mulla, Director of the Information and Telecommunication Department, highlighted the importance of attending such an exhibition, where the newest inventions and developments in communication technology were displayed, in order to adopt the best of these technologies and solutions for the benefit of the Abu Dhabi Police.
"Such visits can reveal new avenues for planning our future development. Having the exhibition as a gathering point for the participant companies facilitates communication on a significant level,” said Colonel Al Mulla.
“This visit is in line with Abu Dhabi Police’s quest to keep pace with the rapidly developing ICT world", said Captain Mohammad Obied Al Obaidly, Director of Studies and Technological Development at the ICT Department.
"The visit is of high importance as the latest in technology and communication is exhibited and the companies present their newest inventions and their plans of future technologies", he further said.
