The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police promoted its awareness programs to instill preventive culture amongst students and raise their understanding about the damaging consequences of traffic accidents on part of the family and the entire society.
Within the programs of the campaign themed “they do not realize danger”, around 80 students from Al Ameen Primary School and Al Dhibyania Model School in Abu Dhabi got acquainted with the efforts of traffic accidents prevention. They received extensive information about the automatic bicycles fitted with smart systems and which are used by traffic controllers.
They were also briefed on the duties carried out by traffic patrols and the technologies used in them.
During the visit, the students received a lecture and a practical training about the negative impacts of traffic accidents, and the role of road users, be them motorists or pedestrians, in curbing traffic accidents.
The field visit has focused on providing the students with practical training about ways of safe riding and staying on the school bus when it moves. They were also urged not to stand behind the school buses after getting off them.
Commemorative gifts were presented to the students at the end of the visit.
