445 drivers have d the red light since the beginning of this year

 

Al Ain Traffic Section has registered since the beginning of this year 445 violations against drivers who jumped the red light. This step is part of efforts to control traffic flow and to deter reckless drivers.

Lt. Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Blushi, Head of Al Ain Traffic Section said "Traffic campaigns will continue to monitor red light jumpers and reckless drivers. The aim of these measures is to curb unbecoming behaviors so as to enhance objectives that ADP traffic safety strategy seeks to achieve. The campaigns are also intended to reduce traffic accidents and serious violations which lead to traffic accidents and their drastic consequences".  

Al Blushi has warned against any who flouts public safety, reckless driving and jumping internal and external red lights the things that endanger the lives of road users and involvement in severe accidents. The campaigns will continue and any offender who violates traffic rules will be detained for one week, the vehicle will be impounded for one month and community service for two days will be imposed.   

IF red light jumping, reckless driving and over speeding offences are repeated the punishment will be harsher.
