The Follow up Department of Illegal Residents and Foreigners at the Al-Sharjah General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs carried out an inspection campaign at the Second Industrial region in Al-Sharjah, which led to the arrest of 43 Asian illegal immigrants who infiltrated into the UAE.
The Follow up Department of Illegal Residents and Foreigners received information about illegal immigrants who broke the Law of entry and residence of foreigners, living in the Second Industrial region in Al-Sharjah. The Directorate sent its members to the abovementioned location and arrested the offenders, and referred them to the Public Prosecution, to take the appropriate legal action.
Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residence and Ports Affairs, stated that these campaigns come in line with the efforts exerted by the Follow up Department of Illegal Residents and Foreigners and the relevant departments in order to reduce the number of the illegal workers, and house maids who run away from their sponsors, as well as persons who illegally infiltrate into the country.
He added that inspection campaigns will continue during the upcoming period and will be intensified in the different regions and neighborhoods in order to arrest the persons who break the Law of entry and residency of foreigners. He also commended the huge efforts exerted by the members of the Follow up Department of Illegal Residents and Foreigners for the success of these campaigns.
Major General al-Menhali called on the various components of society, nationals and residents alike, to cooperate with the relevant bodies by reporting such violations and not covering up the violators and those who bring in and harbor illegal immigrants and infiltrators who pose a threat to the security and safety of society.
