A total of 146 paramedics with varying sets of responsibilities and skills commenced their role on the Ambulance Team of the Abu Dhabi Police’s Emergency and Public Safety Department. This addition is part of a plan that aims to support and enhance emergency services by setting up new dispatch points where emergency vehicles can be placed, in addition to ameliorating communication with citizens and residents in the Emirate.

Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said that this initiative falls under the directions of Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to establish the most advanced plans and projects to develop emergency services matching international quality standards.

“The new paramedics joining the service will help reduce response time, which will have a positive impact on arriving to emergency sights and performing tasks in record time and in a very professional manner,” he said.

“The police commandment is very keen to carry out the strategic plan of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Vision. Emergency services represent a human duty for the police, who are working on developing services to reach the highest quality. Augmenting the standards of emergency services will help boost the public’s confidence in the services they receive,” he added.

Lt. Colonel Muhammed Ibrahim Al Amri, Director of Emergency and Public Safety Department and Head of the Emergency Section, said: “The team is committed to implementing the best methods and plans using its expertise and skills in serving the community.”
