In collaboration the Civil Defense Directorate General, the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ carried out a successful mock drill on extinguishing a fire that broke out at the Crime Scene Department. Rescue teams evacuated employees from the building and put out the fire in a record time.
The drill began when the Abu Dhabi Police Operations Room received a tip off at 9:00 am, on the outbreak of a fire. Sirens went off; safety guides evacuated the employees, pending the arrival of Civil Defense and Ambulance teams.
As per the scenario, all concerned Police and Civil Defense agencies and support units were notified and immediately dispatched to the scene. All participating entities dealt professionally with the incident, within the acceptable response time.
Director of the Crime Scene Department, Lieutenant colonel Salem Khalifa Al Dire, emphasized that the drill comes in line with the implementation of the Environment, Health and Safety Management System at Abu Dhabi Police, and complements the various activities and services provided by the Police GHQ.
He added that Abu Dhabi Police endeavors to implement several procedures and programs to protect the environment and preserve natural resources. Moreover, Lieutenant colonel Al Dire stressed the keenness to achieve partnership among the various government and private sectors, as well as pursuing and developing relevant projects.
The series of procedures come in line with the Abu Dhabi Police’s plan to qualify its departments on environment, health, and occupational safety systems.
