"Health Council" discusses organization
 of medical products and health services for inmates

 

The Health Council, Chaired by Dr. Haneef Hassan, Minister of Health, has discussed medical products and health services for Correctional and Punitive Establishments inmates, in a meeting held at ADP Police Officers' Club.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Salim Saleh Al Jineibi, Director of ADP Medical Services and a number of Ministry of Health officials and other relevant authorities.

The Council discussed three federal draft laws: Regulating medical products, pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical establishments, medical examinations for expatriates at their home lands before coming to the UAE and regulations of the Federal Law No. (18) Of 2009 regulating registration of births and deaths

The Council reviewed the study made by the working Team regarding the current situation, obstacles of treatment of persons with special needs and work obstacles faced by the health sector.

The Minister of Health lauded the efforts and achievements of MoI in different areas, including medical and remedial services delivered by the ministry to its personnel, inmates of Correctional and Punitive Establishments and persons with special needs, in addition to getting 13 prizes and a medal in Khalifa Government Excellence Programme.

On the other hand Brigadier Al Jineibi appreciated the efforts of the Health Council efforts in regulating medical products and health services for inmates, affirming that the Medical Services Department spares no effort to deliver best services to its personnel and their families. The Council also has become effective in taking decisions regarding amendments of some laws and regulations.
