The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols of Abu Dhabi Police continued awareness of dangers resulting from jumping the traffic light, and organized a lecture to educate students in the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain, as part of the awareness programs within the campaign "traffic light violators, beware!" which was lately launched by the Ministry of Interior to reduce traffic accidents caused by jumping traffic light.
The lecture was delivered by Lieutenant Hamdan Hassan Bin Dheban, Acting Branch Manager of Public Relations, Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section, in which he urged the students to respect traffic laws, and avoid jumping the traffic light, alluding to the deaths and serious injuries resulting from that.
He stressed the importance of adhering to specific speed limits on the city streets and highways, indicating that speeding are the main cause of most traffic accidents; in addition to other reasons, including using hand-held mobile phones, or the use of smart phones to communicate with friends while driving, which would eventually leads to traumatic accidents.
He called upon young people to preserve themselves and refrain from lethal practices such as racing on the roads and other negative behavior while driving their vehicles, a thing which leaves some of them suffering disabilities for the rest of their lives, thereby losing their efforts and causing pain to their parents.
