The Directorate General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior hosted two specialized courses for the Silver and Bronze Command Structures at the Crisis and Disaster Management Department. The courses, organized in collaboration with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and the UK Emergency Planning College, were held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, and attended by 56 officers from the various police general headquarters and directorates general at the countrywide level.
In the opening speech, Colonel Staff Abdul Wahhab Ahmed Al Hajiri, Director General of Central Operations at Ministry of Interior, said that the courses aim at increasing commanders’ crisis management efficiency and skills; and acquainting them with the best practices and experiences in this field as well as exchanging knowledge. “The Ministry of Interior has undertaken several initiatives in the field of crisis and disaster management in cooperation with its partners, with the aim of unifying and coordinating efforts to improve police work,” he noted.
Adding further, he said: “This measure is a part of the Ministry of Interior’s initiatives, and is being implemented according to an operational plan in collaboration with the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development and other strategic partners in an effort to upgrade police work to the highest standards.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Lt. Colonel Dr. Salem Abdullah Alwan Al Habsi, Chief of the Crisis and Disasters Section at the Directorate General of Central Operations and director of the initiative, along with a number of officers from the Directorate General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior.
