The Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi has seen the conclusion of the summer program event: “Police Friends.” Stage two of the event witnessed the participation of 50 male and female students; these participants are the children of Abu Dhabi Police officers.

The event was attended by Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ); Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Cultural and Social Activity Department in Directorate; and a number of officers.

Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), asserted the significance of the program in terms of granting young girls and boys the skills they can use in their future. The colonel also stated that the program was divided into two stages where the second half was scheduled just ahead of the return to school to infuse the kids with a vivid and energetic spirit for an academic year full of optimism in achieving success and excellence.

Al Shamesi assured the determination of Abu Dhabi Police to adopt a method to develop the children’s skills through the “Police Friends” program. “The program was organized by the Cultural and Social Activity Department in Clubs Directorate and revealed the commitment of ingraining the spirit of belonging to the homeland and enhancing their national identity. The program provides them with general education in different fields as well,” said Colonel Al Shamesi, who praised the interaction of the kids with the program along its various stages throughout the year.

The second stage of the program included a number of sports and recreational activities, which indulged the kids with a fun-filled atmosphere and provided practical training on several hobbies.
