Truck fire due to faulty Air conditioning system
Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction (TRRR) men of the Department of Emergency and Public Safety Department at ADP were able to contain the fire erupted in a 18-ton truck carrying red sand on Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road. The truck was on its way to fertilizer factory in Al Ain.
Lt. Colonel Said Salim Al Rashdi, Director of TRRR stated that the Emergency Operations Room received a report about the fire at 12:00 hrs. When the fire men arrived at the spot they found the flames were still on the front of the truck. Our men were able to control the fire as quickly as possible. Water and foam were used to extinguish the fire.
No body injured in the accident. According to the truck driver's statement, the fire was due to an electric short circuit in the truck when tried to switch the A/C on.
