As per the directives of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Traffic Coordination Committee at the Ministry of Interior, discussed establishing a work team at the federal level, to raise the level of response and efficiency of police units performance in dealing with speed limiters malfunctions, for the risks they pose to road users.
In its meeting held recently at the Directorate General of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, the Committee also reviewed Dubai Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate General on speed limiters malfunctions and solutions. The meeting, chaired by Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior, and Committee Chairman, was attended by the Traffic and Licensing Department directors in the State.
Moreover, the Committee discussed the study submitted by Major Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Director of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Branch in Abu Dhabi, with respect to implementing the vehicles permanent ownership mechanism, which enables customers to renew vehicle ownership, pay fines and enter data through the police website.
The meeting also tackled a number of topics to develop customer service centers, the service they provide to reviewers and the time frame for completion of services, according to a three-year comprehensive plan.
