Under such slogans as “Your Safety adds to the Eid’s joys” and “No Eid is complete without you”, the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate organized radio awareness contests during the Eid El-Fitr holiday festivities. The contests are part of the Traffic awareness programs, in the framework of the “Your safety” campaign launched by the Police Operations General Directorate, in collaboration with the Security Media Department, at the general Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy prime Minister, Minister of Interior.
Lt. Colonel Jamal El Ameri, Head of Public Relations Department at the Traffic and patrols Directorate stated that the contests, broadcast on the radio, included quality awareness messages, in substance and in form, and valuable financial prizes awarded to the winners. He added that the contests embody the strategy of enhancing communication between police members and the public, and interacting with them on all occasions.
Al Ameri emphasized that the contests aim to enhance the culture of traffic safety among community members, by participating with them in the various religious and national events, as well as motivating them to get acquainted and comply with traffic laws and regulations, in an entertaining way, consistent with the spirit of this joyous occasion.
Concluding, Al Ameri pointed out that the public’s interaction with these contests represents a good indicator, expressing their interest in traffic culture, and their determination to respect the law. “Moreover, this proves that enhancing traffic safety is an issue that requires concerted efforts from all community members, and close communication with the Traffic and patrols Directorate, which appeals to all segments of society, to exert efforts to implement the slogan: “Let’s work together to enhance traffic safety”, he said.
